THE NAME
Two Tamil words. One belief about where food comes from
Marabiyal is not a brand name we invented in a meeting room. It is two Tamil words placed next to each other: Marabu, meaning tradition and lineage, and Iyal, meaning nature. Together they say exactly what we believe. That the way to grow real food is the old way, the way that worked before chemicals arrived and told us otherwise.
Farming is not an industry to us. It is the origin of everything. We built Marabiyal around that idea, and fourteen years in, we have not moved from it.
A family that never left the farm. And never wanted to.
How we got into this
We did not start Marabiyal because organic food became fashionable. We started it because we had always grown food this way, and one day we decided to stop keeping it to ourselves.
Our family made a simple decision: everything we grow, everything we make and everything we sell will have zero synthetic chemicals in it. No pesticides. No chemical fertilizers. No preservatives. Not as a promise we make on packaging, but as a practice we have lived by every single day since.
What started on our own land has grown into something bigger than us, a complete cycle that begins with the soil, turns farm waste into rich organic manure, turns that manure’s byproduct into household cleaners, and gives the manure itself back to farmers for free. Nothing leaves the cycle. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is sourced from outside.
That is Marabiyal. Fourteen years of farming the way the earth intended.
